Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Lift French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now claimed the season-opening trophy on fourteen different times.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup victory.

The Champions League holders seemed to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the match featuring the Ligue 1 winners and the Coupe de France holders after the French winger found the net in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired twice late to seize a shock advantage. Initially, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a vital equaliser in the final seconds to force the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving crucial kicks from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted successfully for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a convincing shootout victory.

The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now won this trophy for the 12th time in the last thirteen seasons.
